Yarr har fiddle dee dee, being a pirate is alright to be. Eat what you want 'cause a pirate is free. You are a pirate!
The recipe for Precious Booty was inspired by a bad review for a hot sauce that used malt vinegar. I found the idea of using malt vinegar in a sauce interesting and wondered if a good hot sauce could be built around it. After many iterations and tweaks I arrived at a nice combination of rum, malt vinegar and peppers. I've tried very hard to give Precious Booty a multi-dimensional flavor. It's much much more than your typical "vinegar and heat" hot sauces. The rum and malt play well against each other with the habanero peppers providing heat. Some honey and brown sugar provide a sweet undercurrent. The spice blend rounds out the sauce helping to provide a smooth transition through the layers of flavor. A small amount of Naga Jolokia gives a steady build to the heat. All in all I've very pleased with the results.
