Beer Based Pork Mop PDF Print E-mail

This recipe combines two of my favorite things: Beer and BBQ!

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz beer, preferably a dark rich beer
  • 1 cup of ketchup
  • 1 Tbs crushed red pepper
  • 2 Tbs turbanado sugar (or brown sugar if unavailable)
  • 1 lemon(juiced)
  • 3 cloves of garlic - minced
  • 2 Tbs sweet basil
  • 2 tsp fresh cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp dry mustard

 

 

 

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and slowly bring to a boil (sugars and tomatoes will burn easily).
  2. Stir until blended then reduce to simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and use during the last 1/2 of the cooking time.
