This recipe combines two of my favorite things: Beer and BBQ! Ingredients: - 12 oz beer, preferably a dark rich beer
- 1 cup of ketchup
- 1 Tbs crushed red pepper
- 2 Tbs turbanado sugar (or brown sugar if unavailable)
- 1 lemon(juiced)
- 3 cloves of garlic - minced
- 2 Tbs sweet basil
- 2 tsp fresh cracked black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp dry mustard
Directions: - Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and slowly bring to a boil (sugars and tomatoes will burn easily).
- Stir until blended then reduce to simmer for 30 minutes.
- Remove from heat and use during the last 1/2 of the cooking time.
